Resumes that get interviews
I’m Bob Moore and I’m an I.T. recruiter. I accelerate the
careers of top performers by introducing them to the best opportunities.
If you're an I.T. (Information Technology) Pro email your Word
(not PDF or HTML) resume to hear about jobs that are better than what you have
now. bob@tekjobs.com
If you're taking the time to send your resume for a position that I have, then you should take the time to
customize your resume
so it will get you an interview. See job details at My Current I.T. Jobs and Contracts
You're resume must show your focus on the major skills
required to assure you an interview. Use the
questionnaire below
to update your resume by adding any skills you have that's not
on your resume. Refer to the experience required that you have and how much
you have. Adding a few lines under recent jobs can make a difference. You will need at least 80% of the required experience to be
considered.
Show where and when the technology was used
on the job with specific accomplishments.
Include
What have you delivered
To what kind of customers
Using what technologies and skills
With what kind of resources and team
Over what kind of timeline
A
paragraph describing each project and your duties.
Instead of
Responsibilities replace it with Accomplishments
using Problem Action Results.
Problem Action Results are
First you state the problem that existed,
Then you describe what you did about it,
Then you point out the beneficial results.
E.g.
Transformed a disorganized, inefficient warehouse into a smooth running
operation by totally redesigning the layout; this
saved the company thousands
of dollars in recovered stock.
Mention
what you did to improve performance
and or save the company money on every project.
Unique Selling Proposition
What can
you do for us that someone else can't or why should we hire you?
This questions is asking, above all
other candidates what sets you apart.
If you can
determine your Unique Selling Proposition and build it
into a dynamic paragraph, you will have a real advantage of
getting the job. Send this to me, add it to
your resume and memorize it.
